Article: Part Two: When One Door Closes, Another Opens — Finding Strength, Community & a Fresh Start

If you read Part One, you know the past weeks felt like something none of us could’ve prepared for. The sudden closure of Painted Tree hit thousands of small businesses across the country, and I won’t sugarcoat it — it hit hard.

Yes, it was devastating.
Yes, it was unfair.
And yes, it forced me to keep pushing even when I was running on fumes.

We now know they’ve officially filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. And I could sit here and list every single thing that went wrong — the deposits we’re owed, the sales we’ll never see, the April rent we paid for a shop that never reopened. All of that is real. All of that stings.

But here’s the part I refuse to let define this chapter:

It could have been so much worse.

And somehow, through all the chaos, I consider myself — and my business — one of the fortunate ones. Why? Because we have something stronger than any setback:

A community of amazing ladies who show up, support, encourage, and remind me why I love what I do… and a close‑knit community of small business owners who stepped in, shared information, lifted each other up, and made sure none of us had to walk through this mess alone.

That kind of support is rare. And it’s the reason I’m standing here today feeling grateful instead of defeated.

The Moment Everything Shifted

The day we were all scrambling to get our inventory out — vendors rushing, emotions high, carts rolling everywhere — the landlord walked in.

And then he said something none of us expected:

He didn’t want us to leave.

No big speech. No dramatic moment. Just a simple, steady message in the middle of absolute chaos.

And as soon as he said it, something in me clicked.

This is real.
This is genuine.
This is our next chapter.

So yes — we’re staying.
We’ll be right back in our favorite location in North Richland Hills, exactly where our customers know us, love us, and find us.

A Short Pause, A Fresh Start

This unexpected break — as stressful as it’s been — is giving us something we didn’t see coming:

A chance to reset.
A chance to breathe.
A chance to come back with a fresh new look and even more intention behind what we do.

And through all of this, I’ve found myself feeling something I didn’t expect in the middle of the chaos:

Grateful.

Grateful that God has allowed me to keep going.
Grateful that He opened a door I didn’t even know to pray for.
Grateful that even when things felt uncertain, there was a quiet reassurance that it was going to be okay.

I’m not dwelling on the past.
I’m not sitting in the hurt.
That chapter is closed.

What matters now is the door that opened — the one we’re walking through with gratitude, excitement, and a whole lot of determination.

Cowtown Bling N Things isn’t going anywhere.
If anything… we’re coming back stronger.

Part Three is coming — and trust me, you’ll want to read it.
